50th Anniversary Fun Day!
Our week-long 50th Anniversary events culminated in our Fun Day on Saturday. From stalls in the hall, to games outside . . . displays in the corridor, to visits from the Police dogs . . . Saturday was a GREAT day [regardless of the rain].
Thank you to everyone who helped make the week a success!
50th Anniversary – Netball!
Friday afternoon was most eventful for all involved. Kicking off at 2pm was Pupil vs. Parent Netball. The Netball Club gave it their best shot; however, the Parents had the upper hand.
At 3.15pm, the Teachers joined for Teacher vs. Parent Netball. Even with their fetching outfits, the staff never stood a chance against our Parents.
50th Anniversary – Football Tournament!
What a fantastic turnout at our 50th Anniversary Football Tournament on Thursday.
Thank you to the Lochardil Football Club and to Inverness Caley Thistle for supporting the event.
Open Evening . . .
The hall was buzzing with current/former pupils, parents and staff this evening for our Open Evening. It was lovely to see everyone taking a trip down memory lane. It’s great to have such a fantastic community, continuing to grow 50 years on!
Our corridors are full to the brim of ’50’ inspired art work – a real joy to get ‘lost’ in as many relive their past, and think of the next 50 at Lochardil.
Mini Murrays in the making . . .
Mike Martin from Inverness Tennis Academy joined us for a fun afternoon of tennis on Tuesday.
Lizzy, Mike and Rory rallied with the boys and girls and played Prisoner which was watched by mums and dads!
We’ve had a lot of tennis in Lochardil the last few years, so let’s keep it up and see if Inverness can produce the next Andy Murray!!
We will hopefully be back in school after October, but if you would like any more information on when you can play please contact Lizzy.
Opening Ceremony
What a scorcher of a day we got for our opening ceremony today. The front playground looked fantastic filled with Lochardil pupils, staff, ex-staff and invited Highland Council dignitaries celebrating 50 years of Lochardil Primary School.
Thank you to all of the staff, parents and Highland Council Members who made the event a massive success. Our afternoon tea was attended by many – a wonderful way to launch our 50th anniversary exhibition.
The next public event is the Open Evening on Wednesday night, 7pm – 9pm.
Lochardil 50!
Lochardil’s 50th Anniversary!
The plans for our 50th Anniversary, kicking off Monday 25th August 2014, are in full swing. The corridors are now decorated with work inspired from 1964, we’re still collecting in memorabilia from the school’s 50 years, and our programme of events has now been finalised. Programmes have been sent home to all parents/carers. You can download the programme below:

Our Birthday Hit the Headlines . . .
The Parent Council PR drive to publicise our 50th birthday hit the Highland Council press last week. After handing out 300 balloons to pupils on Thursday with information regarding the 50th celebrations, we’ve drummed up some interest – and appreciate the support of parents, carers and local community members.
